Question Help with Irish Guards badge please

Sorry I am very new to this having inherited my Fathers collection. I have searched several books and on the web but I cannot find one like this. Thank you for any kind of help.Irish Guards.jpg

I was told this but it is wall mounted and very difficult to get off. I will see what I can do when I manage to get an extra pair of hands to assit. Thank you

Looks to be a 4th Royal Irish Dragoon Guards officers helmet plate. Very nice item.

A very nice looking badge indeed! I hope you like them and keeping together or are you after finding out about them and then selling on? Look forward to seeing your other badges if this is attached to a frame?

I have seen that on the net but the enameling is a dark blue and the background is a very light blue, not white. Could this be a different variation ? Thank you for your help. there are 500-600 on a wall mounted frame. I not sure if this is the thread to post them all on ? I think my Father would come back and throttle me if I sold them.
