Default Royal Air Force Master Aircrew rank badge, or something else?

Good morning

I picked this up at a flea market yesterday, from images on-line, and on the Forum, it appears to be a Royal Air Force Master Aircrew rank badge missing the metal aircrew eagle (and has no indication one was ever attached). It measures 8.8 x 8.2cm (3.4 x 3.2inches), and from the glue residue on the reverse it looks like it was in a collection/scrapbook at some time. Am I right, or am I missing something (other than the eagle) here?

It will be offered for sale on the Forum in due course.

Thanks for looking

Graham

Yes it is a Master Aircrew Arm badge. The badge was worn without the metal eagle on flying suits prior to the issue of Rank slides. The one you have is post 1972 pattern (dark blue). They were issued like that without the eagle which was added by the wearer. Please see my album. https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...p?albumid=1234
