Default Tartan Badge Backing

Hi Guys,

I'm rearranging some badges and have some tartan material spare. Is there a list of Canadian Scottish regiments that have tartan flashes behind the badges? I can find a list of tartans but don't know if badge backing was worn.

I've already got Camerons and Seaforth done.

Thanks in advance, Bill

Hi NRM,

I know the basic ones that are the same as Scottish regiments but some of the canadian ones have me stumped.

If you have spare for the two badges shown I'd be interested in buying a bit for each from you.

Cheers, Bill

Thanks Leigh,

I have some Government tartan so may add a square to my A&SH badges.

The proper name for what you call the tartan backing is called a swatch.

The tartan of the ASH of C is known as Government tartan #1, The Black Watch tartan, or Campbell tartan.

The oldest tartan in the British army is MacKenzie.

Cheers

Hi Bill, I have had a look, and cant find the off cuts.

I brought them both for £2.00 each in 2014 from
Scotland shop 01890 860770, theres a web page with all the tartans on it.

No problem mate, I'll have a look through the website and might drop them an email.

Thanks for looking,

Bill
