Civilian Military Government Officer
recently acquired: a pair of Civilian Military Goverment slip on epaulettes: i guess they're British and WWII, but I'm not sure. The Allied Military Government was jointly run by the Allies, I guess... any hints about the country/place where these epaulettes could have been produced?

Hi loupie, I believe they were used by both the British / Canadian forces, but I think that they were made in the UK and issued to both contingents. The other ranks example is not seen as often as the Officer variant. My notes were from the perspective of a Canadian collection, and perhaps one of the UK members of the Forum will have more info on the British use of the slip-on.

this is therefore for the CCG: do you know whether it was used by the Allied Control Commission (AAC) in Italy, or the Allied Military Government in Trieste?
