Apologies if my age & alcohol befuddled brain is aiming off, but was there not a good multi-part article on the 73rd Foot at Waterloo in Military Illustrated about 20 -25 years ago? A break down of individuals in the Grenadier Company, I think it was?
My own elation at a medal "given" to my family today concerns the Legion d'Honeur awarded to my father for his service in France in 1944. Basically an award for longevity but it's appreciated. Let's hear some research on the Waterloo and Crimea Medals please. Edit to add details of the separately published "The 2/73rd at Waterloo. Being a Roll of All Ranks present with the Second Battalion The 73rd Regiment of Foot", With Biographical Notes, by A Lagdon and J Sly, privately published Brightlingsea 1988. Published by Brightlingsea Press in 1988. Last edited by leigh kitchen; 02-07-18 at 09:01 PM. |
