Default 8th VB Liverpool what is it?

I am currently breaking up and selling a small collection of Scottish Regimental badges and this particular badge is causing me grief as I can find no examples in any of the reference books that I have. The previous collector had it labelled as 1900-1908 Liverpool Scottish Glengarry badge, but it has screw posts to the rear so I am flummoxed. Any assistance with identifying what it is would be appreciated. It measures 50 mm diameter.

This design used as both a glengarry badge ( not generally worn with a crown but I do have an example with a crown attached ) and a sporran badge. With screwposts most likely a sporran badge.

Definitely not ( as some auctioneers have described examples ) a pouch belt plate.

P.B.

peter,

In your explaination do you mean "with screwposts" rather than "with lugs"?

regards

Thank you very much, I thought perhaps a sporran badge. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
