Cant find any info on this officer can anyone help?

Reference in the London Gazette Publication date: 13 October 1914 Supplement:28937 Page:8222

LOCAL BATTALIONS NEW ARMY.
The undermentioned Officers to command Battalions and those under the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel are granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel: —
Dated 1st September, 1914.

Major Walter G. Wolridge-Gordon (retired pay), 2nd Public Schools Battalion, The Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment).

Walter Gordon Wolridge-Gordon. From SWB Lt 1883: wounded at El-Teb 1884; Adj 1888; Cpt 1890; Served in Matebele Rebellion with Bechuanaland Border Police 1893-4; Major 1900; Commanding Depot The Black Watch; Lt Col 19th PSB Bn Royal Fusileers 1914-18.

For a student and collector, just as important is what they are wearing. It would seem they are wearing the frock type doublets?
