Army Air Corps Eagle Arm badge
Some time ago I saved this superb picture from a post on the Forum but I have been unable to find the original post.
I am interested to know the dates on the sealed patterns in the picture and would be grateful if the original poster could let me have them as they are too indistinct to read on the posted picture. Hope that does not break any Forum rules. Thanks in advance, Jon |

Can you please post what is written in red ink under the badge?

Del,
Many thanks. I was interested because the badge, introduced in March 1958 for the newly-formed Army Air Corps which was to be worn on the right sleeve below the arm title on battle dress was apparently discontinued in December 1966 at the request of HQ Army Aviation as 'they were no longer worn and no longer required'. The Army Dress Committee authorised its discontinuance when it met on 6th January 1967. This would tie in with the abolition of battle dress a few years earlier as presumably the badge was not worn on the No2 Dress that replaced it. However it is known that the badge reappeared later for the flying suit and the date on your pattern cards would seem to be the date of its reappearance. Comments welcome.
