Hi there, anyone able to tell me when the Household Cavalry staybright anodised aluminium cap badge with a queens crown started/ceased to be worn?
Many thanks Tony |

I can't help with dates other than to say that "official" dates will presumably not tally with actual dates worn.
In 1979 I was in a unit which included a Life Guards Trooper, he had a brass Household Cavalry badge on his forage cap. He said that although anod. al. were issued, private purchase brass had to be bought and worn. |

The Life Guards aa badge was introduced circa February 1955.

The Household Cavalry gold anodised cap badge K&K1881 version with two lugs was sealed on 22 August 1962. This followed a decision by the War Office Dress Committee on 12 January 1961 to approve "twin loops and split pin to replace the single shank currently in use".

Tony, a few variations in makers. Early sliders marked Gaunt London and Timings.
