Arab bits and pieces
A small group of miscellaneous Arab items of insignia - military & Police.
I believe the octagonal medal/brooch is a loyalty award for service to Saddam Hussein. GTB |

No 1 in top row and no 3 in centre row are Libyan, No2 top is Kuwait, no 2 centre is Egyptian and bottom is Oman, rest are Far East not Arab.

No 3 in the top row is Brunei, and I'm fairly sure No 1 in the centre is Libyan Police pre-Ghaddafi. No3 in the centre is Libyan, as Eddie says - Cyrenaica Police early 1950's.

Thanks guys for your comments.
I don't have my notes at hand but what I recall is this: First Row: No.1 is Jordanian; No.2 is Kuwaiti Armed Forces (Army/AF). Many years ago a Kuwaiti AF colonel gave me his rank insignia & uniform buttons, and apart from the buttons the rank star bore this device as well. Nos.4&5 are cap and collar of Royal Brunei Armed Forces, '60s period. Second row: No. 1 is Libyan Federal Police, monarchy period; No. 3 is Libyan Public Security, also monarchy period. Third row: Omani. The Saddam badge/medal is an Iraqi Baath Party loyalty award. GTB |
