Default Motto

One for Griff
I have seen a couple of these now this was on a khaki
officers cap I know it's a copy but with the wear it seems to be genuine theatre made perhaps ?.
It is horrid but it has its place.

Best Mac

It clearly cannot be both genuine and a copy, from the photographs I would say it is just another crudely die cast plated OSD, but, an original piece like others you encounter to various regiments.

Hi Mac

yes I have seen these. They are a poor copy of the 1960 Gaunt Motto..... I am not sure any self respecting 17/21L Officer would wear one of these?

So the SD cap and badge are simply a marriage and a rather poor one.

Thanks Griff/Frank
Knowing 17th/21st Officers as i did spending funds on mottos might not be as high on the list as you might think. Good to know it has its place so it will be kept.

Best Mac

My question would be Mac ...... why buy that ..... when you could go to the stores and purchase or be given one of these?

Default motto

Some officers have things melted down from family to make Mottos or might have one knocked out in some local market cheep. Young officers dont have as much cash as you think. I have another rough one in a service cap that belonged to a commanding Officer
Best Mac..
