I have a similar one on olive green but don’t know dates of wear.
I also have this one on a white backing which, so far, has defied positive identification.

More helmet cover and ‘floppy’ hat badges in my album.

Could the white badge be for wear on regimental cook's whites? Worn on jacket rather than headgear?
Or worn on sports wear?

Could be, but it just occurs to me that it might be a sort of proof for the olive green version but printed on white material. Or perhaps intended to be dyed olive green before issue?

Worn on the Jungle Hat, Hong Kong 1971-1973 and Belize 1976.
