Very nice ARMD CAR REGT cap badge officers
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/281090297991?...991%26_rdc%3D1
First one of these I have seen, price went a little high but still, when was the last time you saw of these? Scully marked as well, I wonder if there were enameled collars as well? Mike |

I've seen these before with the collars - gilt and silver, no enamels.

A very pretty badge to be sure, not sure how I missed seeing that one on ebay!?
Like you Mike I have never seen one of these either. While it is a nice looking badge, the thing that bothers me about this type of badge (that just has different surface plated areas) is how do you ascertain a manufacturer authenticity back to the 1930's or 40's? A true bi-metal badge, would be a hard thing to fake or make up, but it seems in the case of this type silver/gilt plated badge, anyone with a regular brass badge (also Scully marked) and $49 electroplating kit can make one?? The back of the badge with the silver plate (or is that solder?) running sloppily across the back, appears suspicious too or at the very least, lacks quality control. Just sayin' There is an enamel sweetheart on ebay right now. A better question... did Armoured Car regiment's really mount wide white walls on their AFV's?? Seems very extravagant...

VERY nice, way too much for me. There was a Cap and collars on display at the Nanaimo Military Museum which looked spectacular close up. Someone got a premium badge.
