Default Unknown Cloth Badge

I came across this cloth badge the other day as part of a collection of items relating to the 6th Bn Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry in Burma. It looks a bit foreign to me?

A local hand made formation badge for the XIV Army (14th Army).

The design of the badge was by Lt.Gen. William (later Sir) Slim, commander of the 14th Army. David

If the dagger is a Roman "I" between the "X" and the "V" it starts to make sense - I could not make out how a 15th Army was involved. If these badges were locally made, that would also explain these SEA Command shoulder flashes.

S.E.A.C. South East Asia Command. Again a nice set.

For SEAC there is also a khaki one with black lettering and a red one with silver wire, like the black one shown. Not sure what the distinction was between the different colours. As yet I don't have the red one.

The first is a theatre-made Fourteenth Army badge that belonged to my grandfather who served in it; the second is what appears to be a blazer badge purchased a year or so ago at the Chatham fair. The other SEAC badges will be in a subsequent posting. David

There is also a SEAC radial shoulder title with red lettering on a blue background.

Thanks Stanley. I hadn't seen the red on blue before. Does anyone know who would have worn what? My grandfather was in the Army and wore the black with metal wire. The red on blue looks like it might have been RN.

David, the ones on my blouse seem identical.

I would think the red-on-blue badge was worn by someone in the 6th Bn Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, as the badge is in the Ox & Bucks Lt Infty collection.
