Default Return Of the Army Catering Corps?

There seems to be some talk that the Army is bringing back the ACC ('Aldershot Cement Company'):

"The MoD has announced plans to re-introduce the Army Catering Corps.
Formed in 1931, the Corps faithfully served tens of thousands of troops around the world with food and drink. The Corps was disbanded in 1993 on the formation of the Royal Logistics Corps.
However, due to numerous failings of contractors to provide catering, and by popular demand of troops, the Catering Corps is due to return as early as 2022.
“We’ve been part of the Royal Logistics Corps for the past thirty years” said WO2 Derek Duval, 42, of the RLC, “but it’s about time that we returned to our proud tradition of serving scoff to troops worldwide.”
It is predicted that troop favourites such as Bratwurst will be regularly served by the ACC. According to MoD sources, troops will be drawn from chefs in the RLC, with applicants welcome from all cap badges following completion of a demanding selection course."

Bratwurst you say? Could it be more than coincidence that intelligence reports (well, OK, Google News items) state that VW have stopped serving bratwurst in their canteens?
Is it being stockpiled in anticipation of return of the ACC?

WO2 Duval (quoted in the article) doesn’t even appear to know the correct title of his corps - it’s Royal Logistic Corps - not Royal Logistics Corps - there’s no S on the end of the word Logistic….

Sounds rather spoofish, what with that stereotypical "Tommy speak" and all, but who knows.

If this was true it would be a headache for logistics. Would the ACC (or maybe the Royal Army Catering Corps) return to original cap badge or a new design produced?? The RLC would have to redesign their current cap badge etc etc
So lets wait and see if this is a REAL move or just a spoof..

As an aside, Andy Capp was a Royal Northumberland Fusilier who served in North Africa during WWII.

A few of the cartoon strips mention his being a Fus.

There's one where he's eating in a caff, spits out the food and says " I know that cooking". He rushes to the kitchen - "and shouts "Sergeant Bell" who replies "Fusilier Capp".

There used to be a framed print of at least one of his strips on the wall of 1RRF's Bn HQ during the 70's, he's at the dole office -

"Have you any experience of drilling?

"I was a sergeant in the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers".

Ken, If the ACC reform will not their motto be removed from the RLC cap badge?

p.s. Not this time mate. I have heard that the vendors will ALL be in one hall. I am off to Capel Military show today-Saturday, so that will be my fix this time but I probably be at Chatham next w/e.

Good to see that WO Ducal is stating RLC has been in place over thirty years. Next as a caterer he will be telling us that twelve is thirteen
