Parachute Trained Bomb Disposal?
I was sent this photo a couple of weeks ago to see if I could give an answer as to what it might be. It is a single patch with a pair of parachute wings to the top, and an RAF style Bomb Disposal badge underneath, in navy-esque colours.
In short I have no answer, only a few observations, thus: 1) The Bomb Disposal badge is very similar in design to that authorised for wear in the Royal Air Force from 23rd January 1941, of a bomb standing on its nose, with the letters 'B' and 'D' to each side, all within a wreath. However, the same design of badge was also used during WW2 by bomb disposal teams of the Royal Australian Air Force and South African Air Force at least. 2) The parachute wings are of similar style to those worn by British troops from the early part of the war onwards, with style looking a little more like middle east or far east made. 3) The colours of red on blue are more akin to Royal and other navies. 4) The front gives the impression of a hand embroidered badge, with slightly uneven wreath and wings, but the reverse looks to be machine embroidered with a machine woven merrowed edge. Does anyone have any ideas? If so I'll pass them on. Thanks! |

Hello
it's not a military patch, but a fashion item cordially Didier |

There have already been threads on this item on the Forum - definitely a fashion item, not real.

Thanks for that. I wonder if the original poster sold it on and the new owner is thinking its real, or if the original poster is looking for a second opinion?
I'll pass that on, thanks! |
