general plastics rising sun
hi all
heres one of my new rising suns. ww1 general plastics. you don't often see this maker and im not a fan of the lack of quality finish compared to some other makers. but it is what it is bc |

Thanks for this post. I recently had a look at some of the Rising Sun collars on my uniforms and noticed that one was General Plastics with exactly the same large blobs of solder or brazing holding the lugs. I thought it was a clumsy repair job, but it now appears to be a characteristic of the manufacturer. What do you think?

hi guys
out of interest what do you think these general plastics badges are worth? there is a local antique shop with 2 of them @$50e. i fugured thats about right. i have several so havent bought them. bc |

Are you talking hats or collars? If the former, then that's good. If the latter, I don't really want to comment, except to say that the prices being asked for collars lately have really surprised me.

nice set. the other characteristic is that the makers name is nearly always hard to read. you know what i mean? not a crisp impression like many other makers bc |
