Oh dear! I stand corrected!

But send that man to the RSM! (use photographic references with caution!)

Been there, done that, with higher ranks as well.

Possibly the same man who said they were worn on Number 1 Dress.

Saw it in the RAOC as well, when No1 Dress was being worn for weddings, the lanyard would also be worn, and some Privates even 'promoted' to Lance Jack for the day

Weddings I give up on, lanyards, fake rank, and aiguillettes of all sorts.

This was a very big Regimental 3 day event with 99% in Number 1 Dress wearing lanyards.

Yes Marc, Even medals being borrowed and in one case full highland dress with RAOC badges* What historians will make of some of these pictures I do not know LoL

* The RAOC did have pipe bands in the 60's as it happens! and if anyones got 'real' photos of them I would be interested in seeing them...

In Clothing Regulations Pamphlet No 15 dated August 1966 is stated: a white lanyard is worn by REME personnel attached to 5th Inniskilling Dragoon Guards. In the publication that superseded it: Materiel Regulations Vol 3 Pamphlet No 15 dated August 1975, REME LAD attached to 9/12L wear a white No2 lanyard.

With reference to the REME depot pictures I can 100% confirm that it was worn by all those who were in the best section. Seem to recall that it was only worn actually on passout though.

Default Royal Canadian Engineer WW2 Lanyard

Hi all. My father was a Sapper with the 4th Field Company of Royal Canadian Engineers during WW2. I would like to assemble a display of his medals, shoulder flashes, badges, pictures, etc. I have done a lot of searching online for a lanyard for the R.C.E. - blue and red. Does anyone have any information as to where I can acquire one of these? Any assistance would be appreciated.

Mike,

Cant help with photographs but ( and you may well know this already ) there was an article in Crown Imperial No.94- Spring 1999 titled "The RAOC T.A. Presence in Scotland and Their Pipe Bands 1950-1967 " by John McKenzie which included illustrations of badges and Plaid Brooches.

Default MDC lanyard

I have a ammo box full of lanyards which I've collected over the years so will sort them out and perhaps do an album.
But here's one that arrived today, without the sealed pattern label it would have remained a mystery or wrongly identified as God knows what.
Cheers
Sean
