[ There are plenty of ebay sellers who could knock out cheap cast soldered ones in their garage. Usually found in the Coventy, Nuneaton area. ]
I live a few miles away from Nuneaton and I have a shed.........mmmmmmmmm I wonder ?? Dave. |

hi guys,
love the thought about the badge and its a great idea but as you have said it would be on ebay in no time. even if you put a serial or member number it would be copied in no time i would be happy for one as i sell mainly at a local bootsale,as i cant drive or travel to far, and have given this website to many people who have bought from me,many repeat customers prob the best to stick to reputation and those you know philip |

Forum badge or name plate
Strange, this thread has 17 replies, When I broached the subject just after the last show at Etobicoke, not one response! Jamie, Remember I spoke to you about this at the show?. I also mentioned it to "JO". I tried to show the post here but cannot figure out how to bring it back. and for some reason, there are no dates on the posts. Regards, DJ.

Sounds good to me. It will at the very least save on carnations and rolled up Times/The Star....
Some sort of mark would be good to stop it being classified - in years to come - as a Birmingham & Coventry Military Band Friends society. david |

As a matter of interest, The Military Historical Society used to have a buttonhole badge and in fact one was was offered recently on E bay as a military badge.
Some proposed designs were show in Crown Imperials magazine of Spring 1994 for a possible badge for them ( see attached photo ). P.B.

A good idea! So when the dealers in fake/copy/repro cr** see us coming they will know we will post them on the forum as the cheats they are and maybe, a big maybe, they will get the message and crawl back into their holes.

Do you mean their holes, which have more than the usual three/four bedrooms, the big leather suites and the large flat screen, Plasma TV's etc, etc, all at our expense ??

Hi Dj, I remember of conversation. I think a name tag badge would be easier for most, and less expensive that making a badge & distributing one.
It's a personal choice, some people wear Clive's Canadian Army World Tour shirts at shows as well to promote groups... |

It would seem that an excellent idea just faded away. I don't have the means, background or contacts, however that said Jaime's idea has merit. What is we had a lapal bin badge that at the centre was the Jack, a Lion, a Beaver, a kangaroo, and a Kiwi Bird at the 4 corners. (did I leave anyone major players of the forum? Chris

I can't see the Celtic nations wearing a Lion, unless of course for the Scots it is a Lion Rampant.

Hey Guys,
I like the idea of some sort of lapel badge to identify members. I've been pottering about with a couple of ideas but I personally like this one best. It can of course be altered to suit the needs of the members. What are your thoughts. Regards Bill |
