10th Battalion Imperial Yeomanry ?
Hello
I'm lead to believe this could be part of the 10th battalion Imperial yeomanry slouch hat insignia KK1397. It's gilding metal and the dimensions are 23.2mm High x 21.6 mm wide c/w hexagonal fixing to rear. I wonder if anyone can assist in confirming the size is correct, and I would be grateful if anyone could post an image of the complete insignia e.g. Blue & Red rosette, 'x' surmounted with small POW's feathers gm. (I think ?), as I've never seen one complete, and am having difficulty in locating a picture of one in wear, let alone in detail. Any other relative comments or observations would be appreciated. Many thanks Rob |

Had a chance to scrutinise these lads in this photo a little more. Though I cant completely make out the insignia on their Slouch hats, it is interesting that the chap sitting down cross legged to the right has this roman numeral 'X' on his right epaulette and XIV followed by POW feathers on his left collar. 14th Hussar? I understand that these IY Battalions were composite, and perhaps that explains the mixture of insignia or lack of it in this photo as these men might be from different companies/squadrons. Any thoughts on this ? Regards Rob |
