Despatch Rider helmet rather than Para, a "papier mache" composition one?
Definitely a military rather than civilian one? |

BC,
Believe this is a WW2 era British Army Despatch Riders helmet judging by the liner. Simon. |

The "pulp", composition helmet and the metal Despatch Rider lids.
I think the pulp helmet has been reused by Belgian forces. Last edited by leigh kitchen; 22-06-21 at 08:51 AM. Reason: Duplicate image removed. |

Used to have one in the early 70's for driving a Cross Country 'Eager Beaver' Fork Lift Truck until it was replaced by a Premer Motorcycle Helmet. Used to also wear WWII Tank Overalls!

What period is this para helmet?
Members of the Forum,
Apologies for my redundancy, as I believe this article was previously provided for the information of the Forum. A few years back I compiled the following article for the readers of my blog page. Given the post's question, thought it might be helpful to reintroduce it; https://arnhemjim.blogspot.com/2015/...e-helmets.html . Hopefully this may be of some assistance.
