1st Royal New South Wales Lancers - circa 1949/1950

Here's a rarely seen picture of the 1st Royal New South Wales Lancers - circa 1949/1950.

On the march at Parramatta, NSW.

It's interesting as they wear chrome Rising Sun badges on their berets (though you can't see in this picture some officers and senior NSW also wore the elephants head collar badge as a hat badge at that time).

They also wear the white private purchase shoulder flashes which I think places the photo at around 1949/1950 (though its a possibility it may be 1951 or even 1952).

The drummer at the bottom appears to wear a 1930s 1st Light Horse (NSW Lancers) badge on his beret.
