Default 21st Lancers badge.

Hi guys,

here is another badge i have in my collection that i have doubts about.

After looking at other examples of this badge my main concern is the lack of "cut outs" around the lettering.
Has anyone seen other examples of this type shown below?

I guess i can only hope that it might be one of the all brass economy issues?

Thanks and regards,Martin.

Hi Martin, I can't say whether it's a good one or not, but economy it isn't. All econ's to my knowledge should have sliders. The lugs would have been seen as defeating the object of economy, requiring the brazing of two lugs as opposed to one slider. The only one I know of is the Royal Scots.

Regards

Simon.

Thanks for showing your example Malcolm.

When i compare the two it is still the lack of "cut outs" on my badge that concerns me.
I just have not seen another one like it yet.

Cheers,Martin.

Hi Martin,

You can find the 21st Lancers all brass issue badge discussed on this thread.

http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...economy&page=6

I don't think any of us has actually seen a good one appear on the forum yet. According to the economy issue project author (2747Andy) the texture/look of the sliders should have a mottled appearance.
