Default Large Anodised Crown

Do any members have any thoughts on by who and where the large crown badge shown below would be worn.

For scale I've shown it next to what I believe are two 'civilian employee' crown badges - one on a Smith and Wright slider and the other being F&S on lugs.

Note that both the large crown badge and the smaller F&S civilian employee badge on lugs have 5 'stones' shaped like a quincunx between the large jewels. Perhaps indicating that the large badge in also of Firmin manufacture.
