Default Royal Engineers Soldier identified Webley Revolver

I have Webley revolver that belonged to Major Edmund Hyde Whalley Howard Stafford of the Royal Engineers (he was the son of Major General William Joseph Fitzmaurice Stafford). It retains 90% of the original mirror nickel finish. I was wondering where I could locate this man’s Royal Engineers medals. He has no surviving relatives so I don’t know where I would even start.
