Yes, the image is of the QOR. Note, they had embroidered titles at this point of the war, but they do not have the 3 CID formation patch. The regiments of the 3 CID acquired their first issues of shoulder titles in Canada before they proceeded overseas. The suppliers had great difficulty dyeing material the proper shade of gray for the formation signs and there were significant shortages for a long period of time. The shortages were so significant that CMHQ was required to locally procure the signs in the UK. The 3 CID signs show a wide range of shades of gray, maybe 50 or more, which is explained by the issues with dyes and multiple suppliers. And, this doesn't include the private purchase of the same.

Yes, they already have issued at least two versions of the 3 Cdn Div patch. I am looking for an example of the first issue "incorrect" colour.

I heard rumours that the last batch was wrong as well.

Thanks, that is news to me. So I need to mark my example as incorrect. (And as second pattern.) Somewhere along the line I was informed that the colour was based on the Second WW 3 CID patch, and my immediate thought was, which one? The blue gray? The slate gray? Or anyone of a dozen other tones of gray.
