Just a quick question on the plating of the ALI Tank badges.... are you saying they were ALL plated or that SOME of them have been plated ? Thanks Jim

Good question Jim. There are many ALI Tank badges in brass around. Not sure about them.

Bill... I wasn't thinking of a BRASS ALI TANK , More so one in W/M. Mine hasn't been plated.

That white metal badge, in my opinion is the correct badge for the ALI Tank. They are very scarce. I think the brass ones were run and then plated as they were not what the regiment wanted. More research needed.
Thanks for the image Jim.

Bill... that's a very plausible explanation of the plated badges... I guess if someone had a plated badge that was worn down there should be brass underneath... or so the theory goes... anyone have such an animal?

Hi Jim, My example shows some wear on the high points. It came from a fellow who served in the regiment late 44 through 45.

Default show & tell

I've been waiting a loooooong time for one of these: cherry Argyll LI TANKS brass, never worn by the looks of it. Extremely crisp stamping with much more detail to the rear than my scanner registered; between the depth of field and the 100% of its gilt wash intact, the reverse scan doesn't do it justice at all. Boy am I glad the vendor had poorer pics than these on the listing
