Early Cheshire related button?
A detector finds with Acorn and Oak leaves design circa 1800 or earlier.
Silver plate over copper approx 1 inch across. Possible Cheshire militia or Regiment. Has anyone seen this attributed before Regards Stephen |

It's not a button l have come across for any Cheshire Regiment battalions. For the regular battalions around 1800 it was 22nd for the militia it was the Prince of Wales plumes. It could be one of the 1804 volunteer companies.

Maybe a Nottinghamshire connection? Just thinking of the Notts Hussars badge.
Cheers, Alex |
