An interesting folder I acquired recently. Very few of these have survived over 60 years, this being the first I have seen.

The WRCNS was established in August 1942. Altho part of the RCN they were their own separate establishment & actively recruited young ladies for wartime service. By war's end almost 7,000 girls had entered the WRCNS.

This is a WRCNS Recruitment brochure issued in 1942-43 to attract girls into the WRCNS & details some of the trades they could qualify for & rates of pay
& other details of the service they were about to enter.

Thought some of our navy orientated mates might like to view the folder contents, so I have taken several close up shots.

The first is of the folder as it was issued folded up & the next two are of the folder open - front & back .....

Pay & Allowances, Uniform & Living Quarters .....

Classes one to three means their trade groups after they complete basic training.

The inside of the folder lists the trades & rates a girl might be employed in during her period of service....
