Default 2 unknown Cloth Badges

Hello,

I am unsure as to the ID of these two if anyone can help. In the spirit of full disclosure I will be selling these if their identity is not within my collecting sphere.

The first 'patch' is the SHAPE one.

The second is a Shooting badge from the 1920's. I know this as there is another with it, larger and with dates below.
It would appear to be a Competition Prize in Shooting Rifles, but what is AHS, or ASH. I am tempted to say Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, but I am not sure the letters line up that way.

Any help much appreciated.

regards

The second one is a "Bisley 8" shooting badge - probably for the Ashburton Competition which was an inter school event. So almost like school colours type badge. AHS possibly All Hallows School ??? They do exist for OTC units so MAY be military

Thanks to PL I have done further research and found that the shooting badges are in fact to the Haberdashers' Aske's School (H A S).

They have an active Bisley rifle shooting team.

They do have a CCF but I dont know if they had a cadet/OTC unit in the 1920's.

Anyone know?

regards

Post no. 28, here, has some info, and mentions Bisley:

(Nothing to do with much but my sister went to Haberdasher Askes (Girls) in SE London).

Excellent, thanks Leigh and Alan of course.

Nice to see that these badges were no doubt worn by H.A. School Cadet Corps members in the 1920's.

Forgot this one.

What animal is that?

Does it represent a School or a Particular competition at Bisley?

Anyone know?

Hi Simon, my twopenneth. The badge and the date appear separated, so not a badge for a specific competition as these are normally in one. Also means the Bisley 1924 was an annual award. It is on BD type material, so military or cadet. The shield would be the answer, which i see as a Red Rat? so representation for that year only. If you wish i can try posting it on a shooting forum. Regards Mark
