Hi Oliver, Nice selection of titles. The evolution of the Royal Canadian Artillery in the post war era is complicated and reflected the ever chaning perception of the role of Canada's army. Early (1946-circa 1956ish) there was a heavy emphasis on air defence, specifically an attack by Russian manned bombers. Later the emphasis changed, and the types of units were adjusted. (There will be a large section on the development of the artillery in the Fabric of War.)
A few observations. The 1 RCA, 5 RCA and 9 RCA are wartime patterns, not post war. 1 CAMU is the abbreviation for 1 Costal Artillery Maintenance Unit (which was originally a west coast unit, then reformed in Halifax for the eastern coast, disbanded 1960.)

I was told that this badge was worn on an ascot. Can anyone verify this?

Yes, I have the ascot here with the badge on it. It is an unofficial regimental badge, worn during the 80's or 90's if I was informed correctly.

Hi Oliver, is the red on blue 5 FD BTY tab sewn on the dark green slip-on a purpose made badge like the 5 FD REGT and 10 FD red on blue badges or simply a cut-down melton shoulder title. Cheers, Keith

Keith/Oliver, I believe the 10 FD tab is a cadet titlle, but I am not sure about the 5 FD REGT.
