Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps shoulder titles
My collection of RCAMC titles for referance, does anyone know if the first one is original? It has that cheese cloth backing to it like a lot of the fake titles do.

Hi Oliver, Could you post an image of the title in question, front and back please? Note the change in line breack on the full titles. In the 1948 review of embroidered titles, for reasons unexplained, several corps had their titles changed from Royal Canadian / xxxx to Royal Canadian Army / xxx. These were taken into wear by the RCASC, RCAMC, RCAPC, and RCAChC. In the early 1960's it was pointed out that these were incorrect, there was no "Royal Canadian Army". The titles were changed, but it was required that existing stocks be used up. The Chaplains and Pay Corps had enough titles to last for years, and before they needed the new pattern, unification impacted the scheme of Canadian insignia.

Here are a couple that I have.
I could have sworn I had the title in the original picture, top left but I don't seem to be able to find it at the moment. |
