Cheers very much everyone.

I now have an example of each of the 3 Leinster economy badges I regard as genuine. In the next few days I’ll hopefully get around to doing an EI album and Yeomanry 1914 album.

You’ve got 3 if the buggers I’ve got the one and hopefully looks like one of your 3 should be great albums Luke

Look forward to that Luke. Other than the Lambourne Leinster, I am not confident with the 1916 all gilding metal badge at all. I have one, but I suspect it is a fake. I will photo it tomorrow and see what people think.

Please tell me one with a blank slider is possibly ok

Yes, Lambourne certainly didn’t mark all their badges and I have seen unmarked Leinsters from their die.

Here are the 3 types I regard as genuine all together:
1. Curved coronet type
2. Attached scroll tail type
3. Lambourne type

Yes, I'm sure ones with blank sliders ore OK as shown by Luke above. It's just me being unable to make my mind up on a good 1916 Leinster badge. Hence me on the look out for a Lambourne.

I believe these to be older reproductions. This type is best defined by the deeply struck ‘The Leinster’ scroll which often has thick edges and the broad untapering style of slider.

I have owned two of these in my time including one bought from a dealer earlier in my collecting days but was never really happy especially with its slider. I returned the badge some years later and was refunded. The one attached I acquired for about £7 on eBay for reference purposes.

Overall the badge is unfortunately very convincing in many respects.

As I suspected then.

I will just keep looking for a Lambourne.
