RAF or continental air force eagle?
Hi,
Please could someone advise if this is an RAF or foreign / continental air force eagle? The badge is made of brass and hollowed out as seen. The reason that I am asking is that the eagle head is facing to the left as opposed to the right (which as far as I am aware, would make it RAF if facing to the right). Also, could it perhaps be a Free Polish Air Force eagle (as the maker says Firmin and therefore be British made but for Polish Air Force)? On the other hand, could it be a copy as the Firmin maker stamp is raised and not stamped into the metal....i.e. this could be the sign of a copy.... Finally, if this is genuine, would it have been worn on a cap? Any feedback would be much appreciated. Many thanks |
