A few Rhodesian cloth items

Here are a few pieces of Rhodesian insignia that were part of a collection of SF & Elite insignia purchased recently. The RLI 1 Commando patch is the first I have seen however I have not seen that much Rhodesian insignia. Thanks for looking

The ranks slides are period genuine and the Greys Scouts ones are very scarce. Yes the fonts were different between the Selous Scouts and Greys Scouts ranks slides. Greys Scouts font is the same as was used on the RLI rank slides.

The RLI 1 Cdo tracksuit patch looks like a fake (copy, reproduction) to me. Reason: too roughly made, lack of detail and the way the letters are particularly the 'DO'.
Of the dozens of these that I have seen on the market over the years I have only ever seen a period genuine one in a private collection.

Hello Peter, thank you for the information. There were a number of slides in the group. I had hoped the CDO was good but knew I was taking a chance. this group showed up at a military show here in the U.S. recently and was part of a larger collection of Para, S.F related insignia. There was a group of anodised Rhodesian badges, Grey Scouts, RLI, RRR, Armored Car etc that I passed on.
