Default Royal Berkshire OSD Bronze

Advice please. Did the Royal Berkshire Regiment officers ever wear an OSD bronze cap badge - with blades?

Hi,

Yes, they did.
You don't see them often, I think maybe because alot of officer's favoured the small Boss badge.

Here is the one I have.

I am not sure when the boss badge was adopted (there were two types, the earlier on khaki, the later on scarlet), so I am thinking that this standard style OSD badge was a very early one, prior to the boss?
I find it doubtful that both types were worn at the same time.

There might have been in different battalions. There was a habit of the 1st and 2nd Bns have dress distinctions. The TF and Service bns could also do their own thing. There was a war raised single battalion of the Hampshire Regt whose officers wore the OR's pattern badge in Bronze.
