Default Dragon Similarities Brecknockshire & Monmouthshire

I had some concerns over a recent purchase of a w/m Monmouthshire Regiment badge that may be interest to others who are looking for one.

It is a less than perfect strike compared to my g/m examples, and also to all the other w/m examples I've seen illustrated on the Forum. It has truncated 'fingers', a slightly squared off circle where the tail loops, flash below the snout, etc.

Surprisingly though (or perhaps not too surprising really), I noticed that it is exactly the same dragon that is on the long scroll g/m Brecknockshire badge. That too has all the irregularities mentioned above. However, as my long scroll Brecknocknoshire is a perfect match for the one illustrated in KK, I have surmised that my w/m Monmouth is more than likely correct even if not a perfect example.

I hope it may be of some interest.
Mark

Both are fine Mark. The scrolled badge with the tail ends is rather scarce, well done.

many examples of this pattern dragon are poorly formed, for both mons and brecknocks but are original
