OBSERVER WING.
Hello All,
This half wing puzzles me little. British ? Canadian made ? Thoughts welcome. Thank you,

Salut, Dominique,
It looks like it could be Canadian made, but I'll have to see if any of my reference books confirm that. I have one similar, and have seen one on a WW2 RCAF tunic recently. David |

I really don't think it's Canadian. Looks more British manufacture to me, with that more coarse thread

David & Mike,
I am in your debts once again. Regards, Dominique

Well, for what it's worth, Warren Carroll's book "Wings. Canada and Great Britain 1913-1945" shows two Canadian-made Observer wings that look exactly like yours. But since RCAF Mike is the self-proclaimed 'expert' on such things he obviously knows better than the real experts. I don't know why I bother!

Sorry, I just offered an opinion. Never said I was right

I am with Mike. Looks British made with that style of thread and the brown paper backing. I have seen plenty of Brit made wings on RCAF tunics and Canadian made wings on RAF tunics.

Another lesson taught.
Thank you for your time Gentlemen.

That is very interesting, were the RCAF tunics you mention, actually made in Canada?
