Bedfordshire Regiment Officer's Forage Cap Badge.
Gentlemen,
Just thought I would share with you my recent find of a Bedfordshire Regiment officer's forage cap badge, circa 1881 - 96. The badge has a dark blue translucent centre. Silver hart crossing a ford, and under the garter a silver scroll inscribed "BEDFORDSHIRE". The badge is made up of four separate components. Comments are always welcome. Regards, Michael |

A gorgeous badge. Aesthetically one of the better badges in my opinion. If I am not mistaken, I believe these were worn for sometime after the 1896 date you mentioned however. The center is glass enamel.

A lovely badge. They were used between 1881 and 1902. See: http://www.uniformology.com/FORAGE-CAPS-01.html
