Default KDG or QDG?

Hi Cavalry experts,

I would be grateful for dating of these 2 badges, the one on left is solid white metal with FIRMIN LONDON mark on slider.

Thanks,
Tinto

G'day Tinto

The second is die struck with 2 old style lugs / loops.
Id say its either pre 1915 when the Prussian Eagle was replaced by the KDG on a star or is post 1937( I think that's the year) when the Prussian Eagle was reintroduced however it would then be on a slider which was introduced Circa 1906, so Id say that its therefore pre 1906.

Hope that this helps.

Regards Phil..

Or more likely it is a collar badge.

Thank you Alan, and Phil, for your helpful comments.
I should point out that the badge on the right is white metal.
Cheers, Tinto

Hi Tinto

Pleased to help, can we please have height and width measurements to determine if the lugged one is a cap or collar.

Regards

Phil.
