adding my latest addition, a late great war or early post great war other ranks wolseley. the liner system using sewn in cork buffers between shell in cradle was discontinued c. early to mid 1920's when it was replaced by the Vero system.
It is named to Pte. dacon, the only great war soldier of that named served with the east surrey regiment, whose 2nd bn was transferred to the Salonika Expeditionary Force in 1915, and spent the remainder of the War on the Struma Valley Front and east of Lake Doiran. The battalion saw action at the Battle of Doiran in January 1918. In 1920, the 2nd Battalion served in Egypt and Turkey, then Ireland, returning to England in 1921.

Dacon is a known surname and the Wandsworth connection ties in nicely with the East Surrey Regiment.
