Printed Brit Para Wings
Just picked this wing up. Appreciate any info. Issued? Produced but never issued? Bogus?

I believe the para wing is a complete fake, there is a SAS version which is said to be based on an original.

It doesn't look too good IMO.
However, J. Bouchery in his "D-Day Paratroopers" claims that Printed Para Wings were issued during WW2. He didn't present an example in his book unfortunately. |

Ah well. Only cost a couple of bucks, so no big loss.
Thanks gents. Stay safe and have fun! Ian B

My conclusion: possible prototypes that were never approved nor issued. I've attached a few photos for references. |

It is known that both sas and para printed wings are being manufactured in the Nederlands and being sold as copies.

Jerry, I'm not sure I follow: how copies can have been produced on wings that were never issued?

Same principles I can easily imagine printed wings being made. |

Hopefully that clears that up.

utilising the images previously used on the forum I would hazard a guess that the wing on the left is the WW2 example and the one on the right is the current reproduction which attempts to emulate the original. utilising the Mk.1 eyeball the differences are quite apparent. to prove either way, readers will not have too long to wait .

A bit farfetched, isn’t it? 😉 Besides, I haven’t seen many of them on the market which would question the validity of a faker’s business model.

If you click on the ebay link in the thread I linled to in my first post you find a seller who was selling them....I saw this seller selling the fake/fantasy printed wings or do you think I am making it up. I think you are being deliberately difficult, though why I don't know.
