Default British Normandy Memorial

A memorial honouring soldiers who died under British command on D-Day - and in the fighting that followed - has been unveiled in France on the 77th anniversary of the Normandy landings.

The British Normandy Memorial records the names of the 22,442 people who were killed on D-Day and at the Battle of Normandy.

Being a pedant (not aimed at op. as he’s only quoting the BBC article)

should read ‘lost their lives on D-Day and in the battle FOR Normandy’.

We will remember them.

Just finished watching the Opening ceremony from Ver-sur-Mer and the D-Day Commemorations at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.

The proud D-Day veterans laying their wreathes and some getting their Légion d'Honneur awards at the NMA was very moving .

"We Will Remember Them"
