Good morning,
for me, it looks like more Belgian than Dutch. Signal corps ? Two stars are for a lieutenant. May be a picture of a button or a label could help ? Laurent |

When Belgian (with I think is very likely), it is a bar with two stars:Luitenant-colonel.
The emblem is IMHO not medical, nor signals, but General staff.

Thank you all went to take a better look and found two buttons inside maker marked E Simons Brussels so now am the new owner of this LT Colonels Tunic thanks to Henk who identified insignia to be General Staff.
Now have to find 18 matching buttons to replace GS British buttons The thick material bar on left chest had me baffled for a while but then remembered most Belgian medals are fitted to a stout double vertical pins obviously designed for that purpose. This will display some of my Belgian medals very nicely. Regards to all Stephen |

Here are some examples of officers' uniforms of the ABL on a Belgian Forum
https://ablhistoryforum.be/viewtopic.php?t=1394 If the uniform dates between WWI and WWII you need high domed buttons with a rim. Last edited by btns; 03-08-19 at 08:43 PM. Reason: added scan of button |

Stout pins I refers to earlier though I doubt any officer would be wearing the Yser Cross displaying the Flemish colours yellow and Black this a is a favourite of mine I was lucky to find and example.

A nice probably pre 1914 tunic for the general staff.
Rank is indeed lieutennat-Colonel. |
