Officers glengarry badge.
Solid silver back star and St. Andrew scrolls separately mounted with rivets one with braze repair. Original cotter pin missing and sphinx broken off but owner has managed to hold overlay securly with a long split pin.

Croix Dr Guerre citation and translation removed from frame, colours now faded.
Awarded to 6th Bn Royal Highlanders for actions at the 2nd Battle of the Marne 20-30th July 1918.

A really nice item to own.
From cavalry to infantry.
A couple of questions if I may, when the F&FY became BW, did they continue to wear their Yeomanry badges, or BW?
May I ask how you came to own the lighter, a great find!

The GM Thane is often attributed to 14th BW during WW1 however it is not so.

Mark on vesta is JG (Joseph Gloster).
There is a ding on the J making it distorted. This style used until 1908 then Ltd was added.
