Default Question on badge lot advice needed

Hi Folks,

I have a lot of B&C badges most of which came from a US pilot that served in Africa in ww2.

Are there any interesting badges in here and any idea on values (5+)?

Thanks
JB

Hi,

Couldn't be able to tell you a value straight off, but I can see 2 Paras Cap Badges, check for hallmarks on the reverse as they might be silver. There is also a Royal Army Medical Corps and Royal engineers in there as well. There are a few unrecognisable cap badges in there that might hold value. Get them checked out!

Regards

Hi JB
The badge with the ram's head is the South African "Die Middellandse Regiment" (Afrikaans - English translation would be 'The Midlands Reg'). Looks like an Egyptian campaign cast badge, value possibly around GBP5 or thereabouts.
According to Owen's book this style was used from 1935 - 1957.
Cheers,
Alex

Hi JB,
The New Zealand "Expeditionary Force" badge was worn by the later reinforcements in the First World War. These badges usually had lugs, yours looks to have a thin slider and may have been repaired. Value about NZ$25-30.

The New Zealand "Onward" badges was worn by the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force during the Second World War. A fairly common badge, value about NZ$5-10.

Cheers, Tinto

Hi JB,
That would be correct if you are referring to the "Onward" badge.
Cheers, Tinto

The Rose looks interesting, any chance of a front and back on that one? Its looks cast? The Derbyshire Yeomanry wore a rose in the 2nd Boer War, it was a large badge approx 5cm in diameter (die stamped badge - then painted in a Khaki paint).
