Modern U.K. Special Forces

I would like to purchase modern U.K. Special Forces items please

I must admit my knowledge of modern UK special forces is limited. However would UKSF comprise, SAS, SBS, SRR, and SF Signals units, if I have left any out please let me know.

My friend has a museum in Maldon Essex, he has a large collection of modern SAS/SBS combat clothing, equipment and weapons but he is lacking the relevant sf badges. Currently he is in discussions with other parties to find premises to house the collection which will be dedicated to the UK Special Forces.

So headdress badges, collars, titles, formation signs, wings and berets are on the shopping list.

We are most grateful for any help.

SFSG may come under your area of interest, and possibly the 'Ranger Regiment' when it is up and running properly.

What is the function of these units and what distinctive insignia do they wear please?

SFSG are based on 1 Para and support UK SF. When ever I met any they wore 1 Para insignia. They do draw from other cap badges.

F Company are Royal Marines and there are is a Troop from the RAF Regiment as well as further RAF Regiment JTACs. That's the bulk of it though there are a few other cap badges scattered about as well as a dedicated Signals Squadron (part of 18 UKSF Sigs Regiment).

Its always a laugh to ask Paras who did the last company scale operational parachute drop performed by British troops. I'll give you a clue, their berets were not maroon...

The two badges below and a couple of other pieces were given to me a couple of years ago by the son of family friends, who at the time was a Captain serving with 1 Para.

He stated that these two badges are worn only inside the wire of their camp, never outside.

Yes - the pic I posted was taken at San Carlos cemetary in 2007 (during the 25th anniversary commemorations for the Falklands War) so NEVER worn outside the wire is not strictly true, but it is certainly very rarely worn outside the wire...

I have an original TRF given to me as a gift not long before I left the mob by the first SSM who was being posted down there from H.
Pulled it out of his pocket.
