HELP PLEASE !!Unknown Victorian Shako plate for ID !!

Picked this one up recently , really no idea , if anyone can help that would be much apreciated. Thanks Steve |

Certainly very unusual particularly in its construction. It also has a very strange central motif which can be viewed 'as is' or in a cryptic fashion. Almost certainly intentional as the designer must have noticed the face.

No idea sadly. Is the winged lions indicative of Middle East or Asian origin perhaps?
It looks like that crown could be a marriage to me, seems to sit awkwardly between the winged lions, looks uneven (closer to the left lion), colour of the metal looks different (more coppery) to the rest of the badge, and finally it has much finer detail. How is it attached? |

To me it looks like the sort of thing which would be used to embellish a picture frame or door knocker or something. Doesn't look military to me.

Definetly shako plate , see rear fittings , thought may be Persian / India regt ...

I would have to agree with Alex on this one. Looks like some sort of ornamentation with wire prongs on rear to fix it to something, but I doubt very much a Shako or any form of military headgear.
