Unknown badges
All appear to be Machine gun corps related, closer pictures would help to ascertain originality.
I have had a quick look at the MHS special of 2015 on Machine Gun Corps badges and there are similar looking cloth badges shown, as to whether your cloth crossed gun badges are variations I have no idea. All seem to be in excellent condition and the fact that you are not sure of originality makes me wonder where you obtained them. Rob |

They do appear to all be MGC related, none of which I have ever seen before. I could only surmise that the yellow and black lozenge is a pagri flash? Are those skulls on the black badges?

Very nice ! the cloth badges in pic four white on black that looks like part of a bike chain is supposed to represent the crank handle / cocking leaver ( not sure exactly ) of a Vickers Machine gun ? are you selling this lot please ?

Whilst I of course to not know, some look rather odd and the similarity in construction and age may or may not be a concern.

Not having seen many of these badges before I am wondering whether some of these badges are part of a new wave of insignia that is being manufactured or if you have any provenance to them. Are these part of the collection of items you hope to buy? Rob |

Unfortunately, as soon as the Military Historical Society published its booklet on MGC formation/tactical signs in 2015 the subcontinental fakers bundled in. Without better pictures, hard to judge. Some of them (such as the green on black gun lock) looked amazing from the front - far less so from the back. Much aided by many of them being of hurried local manufacture.

they are part of a massive deceased estate collection. i have bought most of the australian and NZ and many other choice items. the collection has thousands of pieces. judging by some of the PMs i have received to purchase if i get them, then id say some at least are good and rare and known by some. as i have previously said, amongst some awesome items, there are many duds and fantasy pieces. the collector was a collector, not an expert bc |

bc, thanks for the explanation as to why you originally posted this thread, many of the MG arm flashes were quite crude and easily manufactured by the fakers.
Many collectors buy badges without a thought if they are original, anyway best of luck with your purchases. Rob |
