WWI Uniform Question

Hi All

I am doing a bit of family history & am hoping that someone could help me with this.

I attach a picture of a serviceman taken at a wedding in Stratford, Essex in February 1916. Is it possible to identify which regiment he is with?

One possibility was that he is a chap called Arthur Rye who sadly died the following year (26/10/1917) in Flanders. Although records indicate that he was with the Border 2nd Battalion which has a different cap badge – so possibly might not be him.

Any help gratefully received.

He is a Royal Artilleryman.

Royal Artillery as mentioned. A few observations; he is wearing the cap chinstrap pulled up and over the badge which was a stylish affectation while away on leave or for photo opportunities, and not allowed on duty of course.
Also, his collar has been closed tighter with a hook for a smarter appearance, a common modification, and he is wearing collar badges, which were generally not not worn on service dress at the time except for some cavalry or yeomanry. Again I assume to spruce up his appearance. He also has a trinket of some sort in his unbuttoned fly, lucky for him no NCO is about!
